AlienWare Computers
What to know before buying an AlienWare desktop or laptop gaming system.
Maybe I can help you justify it to yourself (if maybe not your girlfriend). I just picked up an Area-51 ALX, best of the best man. You know the specs: Intel Core2 Extreme (QX6700 2.66GHz 8MB Cache 1066MHz FSB - And like they say overclocked to 3.2GHz), 2 GB DDR Memory, rocking Dual 768MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX, Serial ATA Hard Drives (how do you pronounce ATA anyway?) , Sound XtremeGamer Audio and all the other bells and whistles.
So was it worth it? Would I have been happy with the Aurora or one of the lower other Area 51s? Well, maybe, but if I'm going to shell out for an AlienWare (and it's Ware people not Alien Wear), I might as well get the 51 ALX. Go big or go home. Although I will say I was intrigued by the Aurora m9700 - man that would be the ultimate gaming laptop.
But back to the question - was it worth it? Damn rights. At least so far. I'm freaking amazed. I'll be posting here often to let you know how my quest for the ultimate gaming machine turns out.

Ha, back again already. Just picked up one of the Alien computer cases. I'm a rockstar now. That and one of these desktops.
